In terms of its size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). Based on recent price-per-acre data, Pennsylvania is one of the five most expensive states country for rural land. This data represents $321 million of ranches, farms and other land acreage for sale in the state covering a total of 14,657 acres. Farmland was the most common type of land for sale in Pennsylvania. Of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, Tioga County had the most land and acreage for sale.
