Lands of America data shows $903 million in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale for sale in the Independence State. This represents some 86,854 acres of land for sale in Pennsylvania. Of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, Tioga County had the most land for sale. The most expensive property listed for sale in Pennsylvania on Lands of America recently was $32 million, while the median price for farms, ranches and other land for sale in Pennsylvania was $431,150. The average price of land and rural property for sale in Pennsylvania was $584,616. There was 1,049 acres of sold land in Pennsylvania recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an eight percent decrease in sales activity over the previous month. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $8.1 million. Tioga County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Outdoor journal Seneca Creek recently pegged Pennsylvania as one of the country's "Top 3 Fly-fishing States," and it's hard to disagree with this assessment. Species including trout, steelhead and panfish swim in more than 85,000 miles of streams and rivers, along with 4,000 inland lakes and ponds. The state is home to 480 species of wild birds and wild mammals, many of which can be hunted on almost 1.5 million acres of state game lands. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Pennsylvania. In terms of its size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). In its entirety, 44,743 square miles (97 percent) of the state is land, while the remaining 1,312 square miles is covered by water.
