Internal data from Lands of America lists $826 million in land and rural property for sale for sale in the Keystone State. This represents some 51,206 acres of land for sale in Pennsylvania. The most expensive land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $45 million, though the median price for land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in Pennsylvania was $284,849. The average price of land and other rural acreage for sale in Pennsylvania was $432,524. There was 61,067 acres of sold land in Pennsylvania recorded in May 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from April 2018. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $7.3 million. Outdoor journal Seneca Creek recently pegged Pennsylvania as one of the country's "Top 3 Fly-fishing States, " and it's hard to disagree with this assessment. Species including trout, steelhead and panfish swim in more than 85, 000 miles of streams and rivers, along with 4, 000 inland lakes and ponds. The state is home to 480 species of wild birds and wild mammals and many of which can be hunted on almost 1.5 million acres of state game lands. As befits a state with excellent hunting for big and small game like deer, waterfowl and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Pennsylvania. Of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, Tioga County had the most land and acreage for sale. In terms of size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). In its entirety, 44,743 square miles (97 percent) of the state is land, while the remaining 1,312 square miles is made up of water.
