Lands of America data records about $6 billion in land and other rural acreage for sale in the Keystone State, which covers almost 210,000 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 67 counties in the state, Monroe County had the most land and farms for sale. There were 936 acres of sold land in Pennsylvania recorded in February through the Lands of America sales program. The most land sales in the state last month were recorded in Monroe County. Outdoor journal Seneca Creek recently pegged Pennsylvania as one of the country's "Top 3 Fly-fishing States, " and it's hard to disagree with this assessment. Species including trout, steelhead, and panfish swim in more than 85, 000 miles of streams and rivers, along with 4, 000 inland lakes and ponds. The state is home to 480 species of wild birds and wild mammals, many of which can be hunted on almost 1.5 million acres of state game lands. In terms of size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). In its entirety, 44,743 square miles is made up of land, while the remaining 1,312 square miles comprises water. Wildlife to be found on land for sale in Pennsylvania include whitetail deer, turkey, bear, grouse, ducks, pheasant, geese, and dove. Anglers can enjoy casting for bass, catfish, trout, walleye, pike, and salmon.
