Lands of America data records appromixately $6 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Keystone State. The overall size of land for sale in the state is more than 203,000 acres. Of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, Monroe County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 635 acres of sold land in Pennsylvania recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 10 percent increase in sales activity over the month before, with a combined land value of $7 million for all property and land sold in the state. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $7 million. Perry County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Outdoor journal Seneca Creek recently pegged Pennsylvania as one of the country's "Top 3 Fly-fishing States," and it's hard to disagree with this assessment. Species including trout, steelhead, and panfish swim in more than 85,000 miles of streams and rivers, along with 4,000 inland lakes and ponds. The state is home to 480 species of wild birds and wild mammals, many of which can be hunted on almost 1.5 million acres of state game lands. In terms of size, Pennsylvania is the country's 33rd-largest state, covering an area of 46,058 square miles (29 million acres). Of this area, 44,743 square miles is land, while the remaining 1,312 square miles is covered by water.
